We’ve all felt it. The enormity of taking care of our planet feels overwhelming at times. I’ve lost sleep over it and am still in the process of rethinking the seemingly most mundane choices I make in my daily life. It’s a journey that began approximately when I became pregnant with my first child. I really started to think differently about what I ate and rubbed on my body knowing it would impact my baby. Then I began thinking about the air quality in our home and then eventually what I was putting in the water supply, spraying on the lawn, and how those choices impact the environment. This fall I received a political survey call and was asked which of ten issues was most important to me. I realized that nothing on the list mattered if we don’t have clean air to breathe and water to drink and healthy soil for growing food and a climate that supports life as we know it. The environment is my top issue.
In our busy chaotic lives, how do we fit in one more thing? There are simple changes you can make that have a significant impact, especially when you make the changes with friends, family, colleagues. Millions of Americans making small changes adds up to a massive impact.
